Sony Ericsson W380i Mobile Phone on Orange Pay as you go (Prepay)

The Sony Ericsson W380i is a break from the norm that we have been seeing recently. Rather than following the ever growing trend of slide phones, the W380i goes retro with a flip design (sometimes referred to as clamshell).

The exterior of the phone doesn't appear to have a conventional display on it as the OLED mono display (128 x 36 pixels) blends into the casing which adds the retro chic design of the funky flip.

The external display is a pretty nice touch, but the Sony Ericsson W380i has another trick up its sleeve. You can control some of the phone's features simply by moving your hand above the phone. Mute unwanted calls or put the alarm clock on snooze - without touching anything. Other useful functions include a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, expandable memory up to 2Gb using Memorystick Micro (M2) memory cards, stereo Bluetooth connectivity and a mobile internet browser.

The W380i mobile phone comes complete with PC software that makes it easy for you to transfer photos, videos and music. It's a Walkman phone, which means the music player is more than just something they put on at the last minute without any thought as most phones these days have some kind of music player. This one includes Sony's ubiquitous Mega Bass plus Track ID music recognition software for helping identify music. It’s easy to manage the music in your phone. One click starts the Walkman music player. Now you can play, rewind, fast forward, equalise, shuffle tracks and create playlists - just like in any other digital music player. The Walkman player supports several file formats including MP3 and AAC.

In the box you'll get the USB cable, PC software and stereo headset you'll need to transfer music but it looks like you'll need to buy a decent size memory card separately if you want to really utilise the Walkman music player as Orange don't quote one as being supplied with the handset.
